The Land of Oz

Replacing the western side of Production Courtyard, The Land of Oz showcases places from the classic 1939 film The Wizard of Oz.

The Land of Oz is divided into two sub-lands, Munchkinland and the Emerald City, both of which are expertly recreated to a stunning level of detail. Entering from the Chinese Theater, guests find themselves in Munchkinland, the charming little village where Dorthy landed following the massive cyclone.

As a matter of fact, Dorthy's house is still here! The house is a little damaged, but sill intact. A keen eye can see the Wicked Witch of the East pinned underneath the home.

Munchkinland is home to many small shops, selling both Wizard of Oz merchandise and handcrafted antiques that look straight out of Oz.

Nearby is the Munchkin Land Theater, now currently playing The Wizard of Oz, a live 35 minute long spectacle retelling the classic story of Dorthy Gale and her companions.

This show pulls all the stops and high-tech effects while still retaining the heartwarming tale we all know and love. This is clearly a not-to-be-missed experience.

That's not all though. The Munchkins have recently opened boat tours around the world of Oz for guests to enjoy on...

Oz Boat Tours

Board a fleet of longboats and take in the sights and sounds of the Land of Oz. Boats explore the forests, majestic mountains, and odd wildlife of the region.

Unfortunately, our tour takes a wrong turn, literally.

Boats are diverted into the dark woods of Winkie Country. The Winkies attempt to drive us out of their territory, resulting in a 20 foot, family-friendly drop.

In the end, guests disembark at the Emerald City, the final destination of the boat tour.

Back in Munchkinland, guests can follow the Yellow Brick Road to either the Emerald City (no skipping.. it's a safety hazard.)

If guests go left, they find themselves at the front gates of the absolutely gorgeous Emerald City.

The city is bathed with yellow and green. A large palace rests at the end of the street, home to the great Wizard himself. Shops and restaurants are abundant, bringing the city feel to life. Although light on attractions, the visuals here are themselves the E-ticket.
